PBI’s INAUGURATION EVENT

PBI Inauguration Event was held by the fresh student of English Educational Departement, this event was the form of the strenghten of their generation, which is the 2016 generation. This event was conducted on 19th May 2017 at Swiss Bellin Hotel and who involved in this event was the students of PBI itself and LSBM Estetika as its partner.

The event was themed “The Lights Gather Us”. They used the theme because they believed that one point of light, they could be together and they could find the source of the light and when they were searching for it, they built what they should build among them which is togetherness and known each other so that what made them look awesome. The event spent over Rp.23,3 Millions. This budget was fully used for the inauguration only and fabulize with the amazing performances that rousing the event. The performances was performed by the PBI fresh students itself. The performances were paduppa traditional dance, 4 ethnic dance, Toraja dance, Handmime, Theater, Percussion, and Contemporer dance.

This event was divided by two parts, formal part (paduppa traditional dance, opening speech, and the strengthen of the generation) and informal part (4 ethnic dance, Toraja dance, Contenporer  dance, Vocal  group, Percussion, Theater, and handmime).  Paduppa dance was the first ever performance at the event. The dancer for paduppa dance was 3 people,  and continued by welcoming speech by the dean of Tarbiyah and Teaching faculty, Continued by the Chief of English Educational Department.  After the welcoming speeches and the strengthen of the generation, which was the formal part of the event was finished, moved to the informal part of the event. The first was 4 ethnic dance, the dancer consisted of 4 dancers that showed their respective ethnics, which were Bugis, Makassar, Toraja and Mandar. The second performance was Toraja dance, it consisted of 3 dancers, where the dance was also known as “Pa’gellu’ traditional dance”. The third performance was Handmime, where the performance was the best performance from any other performances, because its meaning was delivered beautifully to all the audiences. The fourth was Theater that  talked about the life of “Anak Lorong”. The fifth was percussion, where all the instruments were made by scraps and delivered very good music. The last performance was contemporer dance, it was called “Batuta dance” that consisted of 9 dancers.

From the event, there were many audiences that commented  about it. One of the guest named Ihsan Rafswanjani said “ Good enough and entertaining, maybe from the first point of view from the room organizing of the location look fancy and elegant because it took place at one of the famous hotel in Makassar that has a good atraction for the guest like me. From the point of the show is amusing to me.Eventhough when i was late to attend  the show  but it make me quite amused just like the percussion show that i have been watch. But there was also a problem with the seats because the rasio between the guests and the seats was not balance. There were also commentaries by the two commitees about their event, Cica said “I think that i feel satisfied and very proud because me and my friends have done as best as we could and bring PBI to its prime”. Salmi Syahri said “ I think it’s very successful. Because we already show what we prepared with practices for 2 months. And we can show that we can. We show to people that mocking us, tear us to pieces, and slander us,but we can stand together as a family”. The other commentaries were also uttered by two students of English Education Department.  Budi said “Spectacular, rousing, and memorable. Rousing  because it can hipnotized the audience to feel every performances that was proof by the croud audiences’ applause. Memorable because there was an odd performance that delivered (Handmime).

The inauguration is also memorably fancy because since the year of 2012, inauguration was conducted by every generations of PBI, but this generation is very brave to targeted the fancy hotel to conduct. Tut Wuri Handayani said “Extraordinary...because it’s not  expected that PBI afford to deliver this inauguration at the expensive hotel,very good effort indeed. There was also an Arabic Educational Department, Zahudi Syafi’i uttered his comment,” The show is organized because they used walkie talkie, also because the committes and their members realize for their jobs. The place was great, the stage was small but the backstage was so broad. The limit of the stage and the backstage was just covered by the black cloth. It’s odd to saw because the place was hotel.  The performances was good. Especially when they nailed it to invite the dean.it’s  just the welcome speech is way too long that i had a chance to sleep at the backstage while the speech.” And final comment was one of the staff at English Educational Department. Also, there is a little bit opinion from Indah Miftah Awaliah,“The inauguration itself is very amusing, what i saw it’s just like they were professionalactors. But unfortunately i am a little bit dissapointed with the theather. Maybe it’s because i am a literarian, so that is so obvious that their lack of body gesture. The story is a bit force, the roles were not naturally executed, perhaps it needed more detailed preparation, but overall they’re doing well” said one of the lecture of Englis Education Departement.
